When the Heart is Heavy

A difficult time: our beloved cat is sick and our planned trip to Germany has to be postponed.

When the Heart is Heavy 8. November 2024

We were actually planning to travel to Germany these days to take care of a few important things. But we have to postpone. There's just too much going on - and most importantly: Mieze is sick.

Our beloved cat isn't eating anymore. She seems weak, has withdrawn into herself, and I have this terrible feeling that maybe she's preparing to say goodbye. I can hardly put into words how much this hurts. I love this animal so much, she belongs to us, is part of our family.

And now I'm supposed to leave her alone? Unthinkable. Even if I trust Tina - and I really do - I can't just hand Mieze over to someone else's care and then drive away. My heart couldn't bear it.

We know we need to go to Germany. There are obligations, things that urgently need to be taken care of. But right now everything feels like it's falling apart. I don't know what to do. I just hope that Mieze makes it through. Please.

My heart couldn't bear it.
