Between Success and Exhaustion

Passed my module test, but the pressure is mounting: language school and training in Skagen are running in parallel. A personal account of the challenges of moving abroad and learning.

Between Success and Exhaustion 20. January 2025

I had another module test at language school today - and I passed!

Last time I really messed up the email task, so I had to redo it today. And this time it worked. Module 3.4 is done, and I'm genuinely relieved about that.

But to be honest: everything feels like quite a lot right now.

The training I'm doing here in Skagen together with Daniela is running parallel to language school - and it's demanding a lot from both of us. Everything is in Danish. Every text, every assignment, every conversation. We have to laboriously translate everything just to keep up.

And at the same time, two full days of language school a week, homework, writing emails, preparing texts. It's a constant balancing act.

We don't have a single Saturday or Sunday where we could just take a breather. No real day off, no moment when nothing is looming.

I sometimes wonder if we've taken on too much. It's exciting, it's educational, it's really wonderful - but lately I feel almost a bit overwhelmed.

Maybe it's just a phase. Maybe it just takes time for everything to sort itself out better. But today is one of those days when I have to tell myself: You're doing your best. And that counts.

You're doing your best. And that counts.
