A Big Step Forward 1 September 2024
Today I'm writing with a deep breath – exhausted, relieved, and yet full of hope.
I passed my module exam! It really wasn't easy. The nerves were intense, and I barely slept properly in the days beforehand. But I did it. Another small step forward on my educational journey. And it feels good – like a quiet victory after weeks of tension.
But the truly wonderful thing is something else entirely: We've finally found a buyer for Michael's parents' house! I still can't quite believe it. It means I'll be traveling to Germany this month to handle the sale. And honestly – I'm excited in a way I rarely am. But also overwhelmed with joy.
This step means so much to us. For years, we've carried the burden of this house, especially the troubles with the tenant. It's been a constant up and down, so much stress, so much frustration. A dog boarding operation in an apartment – without permission. Neglect, obstinacy, conflicts. I'm fed up. It's just become too much.
With a different tenant, we probably could have achieved much more. Financially, but also emotionally. But now it's not about what could have been – it's about the fact that it will soon be over.
I so desperately hope everything goes smoothly. That no new obstacles appear. And that we can finally let go. Then a new chapter begins for us – lighter, freer, and hopefully with more space for what really matters.
