A Reunion at the Circus

An unexpected reunion with an old friend who runs a family circus in Denmark becomes an unforgettable experience.

A Reunion at the Circus 23. February 2024

Sometimes life writes stories that you can't plan - and that's exactly what makes them so special.

This week I found out by chance that my dear friend Isabella, a Danish friend from years gone by, was performing nearby with her father's circus. She inherited the small family circus and runs it with a lot of heart.

I didn't think twice. I baked a cake, drove over - and surprised her. We hadn't seen each other for two years.

Her joy was enormous. We'd been writing and calling each other regularly, but the fact that we'd actually moved to Denmark was hard for her to believe. So her surprise was even greater when I told her that we now live nearby - and that our dream of living in Denmark has become reality.

She invited me right away to help at the circus on February 22nd. And of course I said yes - that was yesterday.

I sold tickets, showed visitors to their seats, was right in the middle of the colorful chaos. It was a wonderful experience - lively, chaotic, heartwarming.

Michael was there too, and in the evening we sat with the circus folk for a long time. There was laughter, stories, translation - in every language under the sun. We had coffee and the rest of the cake.

It was a week full of connection, joy, and the feeling of having arrived. In Denmark. In life. And in the heart of an old dream.

It was a week full of connection, joy, and the feeling of having arrived.
